Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS MEDIATION?

Mediation is the process by which an impartial person facilitates an agreement between parties in dispute

HOW MUCH WILL TR RESOLUTIONS COST?

This will depend on the complexity of the issues involved and the willingness of both parties to co-operate fully in the mediation process. Undoubtedly it will be significantly lower than the combined cost of two separate lawyers. It will be a staged fee, normally shared equally.

WILL I END UP HAVING TO ENGAGE A SOLICITOR?

No, we offer a full service including the preparation of the final legal document.

You will have the opportunity to confirm the legality of the Deed of Separation or Consent Order prior to signature – but not, in any circumstances, to re-negotiate the mutually agreed settlement.

WHAT IF MY PARTNER IS UNHAPPY ABOUT USING MEDIATION?

We will offer to meet him/her to explain the advantages of our service, and to assure them of our total impartiality. If either party is unwilling to co-operate fully from the outset, however, or if for any reason we believe that mediation is unlikely to be successful, we will suggest that a solicitor is consulted. IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES WE WILL MAKE NO CHARGE.
